Plato’s cave

Plato's cave in a cave in an every-day setting

Plato’s cave. Three prisoners are inside the cave, the only thing they see is a stonewall in front of them including shadows of objects. The shadows appear as real because the prisoners have never seen the actual objects.

Plato’s cave is a theory from the philosopher Plato. The theory implies that our senses don’t observe the actual object but a representation of it, in order to observe the whole situation we should step out of the cave. For this project, I created an animation that provides a demonstration of an epistemological interpretation of Plato’s cave. The animation explains Plato’s cave in an every-day setting.
